Summary: The Astonishing Chronicles of Oscar from Elsewhere is the account of Monday through Friday of last week. Briefly, on Monday at 10.01 am, before the astonished eyes of Oscar and his skateboard and Imogen Mettlestone-Staranise and her friends, the Elven city of Dun-sorey-lo-vay-lo-hey was attacked. Enormous waves of a gluggy silver substance enveloped the city. With the exception of a single six-year-old Elf named Gruffudd, all Elves were trapped. Thus, six children and one tiny Elf (surprisingly speedy and hungry), found themselves on a quest. Nine separate pieces of a key, held by nine separate people, had to be located, in order to unlock the gluggy silver spell, and set the city free. The quest was an urgent one. Friday at noon, the spell would become permanent, the Elves would be crushed to death and Oscar would be trapped in this magical world. (Publisher)
